Parking in downtown Mystic can be limited during the summer, so we recommend allowing extra time before arriving. Free and paid parking options are available throughout downtown Mystic. The Towns of Groton and Stonington have created a helpful parking guide with an interactive map showing nearby lots and street parking: https://grotonpolice.org/mysticparking/ If you are staying at a downtown Mystic hotel, we encourage you to walk whenever possible. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
The Boat Shed is located within Mystic Seaport Museum, and it's about a 5 minute walk from the main entrance. If you'd prefer not to walk, let us know ahead of time - we'll happily arrange a golf cart ride down to the venue.
Dress code is cocktail attire. Since the venue is on the water, we recommend block heels or flats for comfort. Mystic evenings in August can be cool by the river, so we suggest bringing a light shawl, wrap or jacket.
Yes! Weather permitting, our ceremony will be outdoors by the water. The reception will be under the boat shed roof (open-air with covered space).
We love your little ones, but our wedding will be an adults-only celebration.
There will be parking available at Mystic Seaport SOUTH LOT near the tugboat. Ride shares and taxis are also easy to arrange in town.
Please plan to arrive by 4:30 PM to give yourself time to park and get settled before the ceremony at 5:00 sharp.
The Boat Shed is a covered, open-air structure, so we’ll be celebrating rain or shine!
