How We Met

First comes school, then comes EUROPE, then comes marraige!

It was the first week of August, 2010.. Liv and I were both moving into our Freshman dorms. My freshman roommate (and best man), Michael Tauchar, had already moved in and I remember being bizarrely anxious pulling up to Foster Dormitory with my parents. I grabbed the smallest box I could find from the car and left my parents behind running up to room 226. That is when I first met Olivia. She was the first person I ever met at TCU. She was standing in my room because she had become close friends with Michael through TCU's Frog Camp Summit, which was the weekend before for them. She was wearing a pink shirt with Nike running shorts. I immediately knew that Liv and I would be friends for a very long time based on her fun and caring personality that I quickly picked up on. And we were. Through dates to the BLUU, to late-night salandwiches (r.i.p.) and taquitos at 1873, to mixers, to tailgates, football games, and even school work, we were always best friends and had each other's backs. It wasn't until we had graduated and were going off to Europe with our best friends Michael and Duds (best man and groomsman), that we became more than friends. Whether it was the charm of Europe, or realizing that another person has such similar interests as you, OR a Munich beer garden crawl... Europe is where our story really began. Since then, we have grown so much as a couple and learned more and more about each other every day. Liv is truly my best friend. Following Europe, it was an easy decision to move to Louisville, where Liv grew up. Her home has become my home and it is where we intend to stay for a very long time. I can't wait to marry her! - Charles Henry

How He Proposed

Albert Bridge, London

For Christmas 2019, we decided to skip town and travel (sorry mum and dad). London was calling our name, as that is where we claim to have "fallen in love." London has a special place in our hearts. It is where Charles Henry studied abroad and it is where we visited post-graduation and decided to give our friendship an opportunity for something more. On December 30th, we had traveled out to the Cotswolds by train for the day and enjoyed the sunshine while roaming through ancient towns filled with darling moss-covered stone cottages. We caught one of the latest trains back to the city and found an authentic Italian joint in Chelsea called: La Mia Mamma (HIGHLY RECOMMEND). We were the only non-Italians in the entire restaurant! After indulging in scrumptious truffle risotto, seafood pasta, bone-in fish, and pistachio ricotta mousse.. we felt walking home was a must. I couldn't remember my last meal that included as many laughs as we had. It had already been one of the best days of my life with my best friend. It was midnight at this point and the streets were quiet and dimly lit.. it was so romantic! We needed to cross over the Albert Bridge from Chelsea to get to our Airbnb. Albert Bridge has these beautiful white bulbs that illuminate the bridge and river and we had wanted to cross it at night since checking in to our Airbnb. Charles had walked ahead of me as I lagged behind taking in the beautiful lights. He turned around and waited for me after making it to the center of the bridge. As I caught up to him he said, "Liv I'm about to do something and I need you to not freak out." He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him after saying some of the sweetest things that I will forever cherish. I later found out, Charles had apparently been carrying the ring on him for a week of our trip not knowing when or how he would propose.. he claims the moment, "just felt right". It could not have been a more perfect start to forever:) - Olivia
