The Swipe Heard 'Round the World

December 5th 2023

It started, as all great love stories do, on Tinder. Olivia saw Brayden's profile, took one look at that smile, and decided the rules of "playing it cool" did not apply. She shot her shot. She commented on his smile. She had zero regrets. Brayden, apparently undone by this, responded the only way a man of his caliber could — by asking her to go bowling. And then asking again. And then again. The man was persistent. We respect it.

The Date That Changed Everything

January 11th 2024

They finally met. And something happened that neither of them were prepared for. It just... fit. Immediately. Completely. In a way that's genuinely hard to put into words without sounding like a Hallmark movie, except this one is real and way better. Olivia demolished Brayden at bowling (this is documented and non-negotiable). Brayden got his revenge at pool (this is also documented and he will bring it up forever). And somewhere between the lane bumpers and the pool cues, two people found their absolute best friend in the whole world. Neither of them wanted to admit how fast and how hard they had fallen. So naturally, they both pretended to be totally chill about it. They were not chill about it. Not even a little.

He Made It Official

Seventeen days. Because when you know, you know. January 28th, 2024

Seventeen days after their first date — because when you know, you know, and also why waste time — Brayden officially asked Olivia to be his girlfriend. She said yes without hesitation. The train had left the station. There were absolutely no brakes on this thing. Nobody was looking for the emergency exit.

The Night Two Men Made A Deal

One fantasy football championship, one cigar, and the most important question of the year. January 2025 — Costa Rica

While Olivia and everyone else had long since gone to bed, two very important men were still wide awake. Brayden and Todd — Olivia's dad, Dr. Todd Bescak — were deep in the trenches of what can only be described as a legendary night. The fantasy football championship was on the line. Todd was this close to winning his league. The game was on, the tension was high, and nobody was sleeping until this was settled. And then it happened. Todd won. The room erupted. Two grown men cheering, hugging, absolutely on top of the world — and in that perfect electric moment, Brayden leaned in and lit a cigar with his future father-in-law. And then, smooth as anything, Brayden transitioned into the conversation he had been waiting for all trip. "I love your daughter so much. And I want to ask for your permission to marry her." Todd would later describe this as the smoothest, most special moment he had ever experienced. Two men on cloud nine — one for winning his fantasy football league, one for getting the answer he was hoping for — sitting together in Costa Rica in the middle of the night, cigars lit, hearts full, with the biggest secret either of them had ever had to keep. They kept it. Barely. But they kept it. 🤍🏆

The Most Elaborate Fake-Out in Romantic History

He cooked. We are not okay. In the best way. August 30th, 2025 — The Stanley Hotel, Estes Park, Colorado

Okay so here's the thing. Olivia had a feeling all summer. Like a gut feeling that would not go away no matter how hard she tried to ignore it. She was convinced Brayden was going to propose in August and she could not shake it. Brayden knew about the feeling. And instead of just leaning into it like a normal person, he decided the correct move was to construct an entirely fake alternate reality to throw her off completely. Which, honestly, respect. Her mom, sister, and brother TJ were recruited as full co-conspirators. A fake trip to Tempe, Arizona was built from scratch — complete with a real, actual, scannable round trip plane ticket to visit TJ. Brayden's brother Cam was told he'd be watching the dog and cat for the weekend. The night before, Olivia and Brayden were literally packing bags and cleaning the house. She had a plane ticket in her hand. The gut feeling finally shut up. 5:00AM alarm goes off. Olivia texts TJ to check in. TJ says he's at urgent care with food poisoning and asks them to cancel. She checks everyone's locations — everyone is exactly where they're supposed to be. They go back to sleep. Trip is off. Totally normal cancelled travel situation. Nothing to see here. A few hours later her friend texts and asks if they want to join her and her fiancé for the historical tour at The Stanley Hotel. And look — if you know us, you know we are always down for literally anything. So obviously yes. Except. The feeling came back. Like immediately. Olivia had absolutely zero logical reason to feel it — cancelled trip, sick brother, everyone accounted for — and yet she did her hair, did her full makeup, and put on a cute outfit. Just in case. Just because. No reason. Totally normal behavior. They went on the ENTIRE Stanley Hotel historical tour. With strangers. Start to finish. Brayden somehow keeping the straightest face of all time while holding the biggest secret of his life, Olivia side-eyeing the universe and trying to act normal. Truly an iconic duo. After the tour their friends suggest getting some photos of the mountains out front. Cute idea! Great backdrop! And then — Brayden got down on one knee. She said yes obviously. She was always going to say yes. She cried. He probably cried. It was perfect and magical and everything and she was shaking and couldn't believe this was actually happening right now at The Stanley Hotel on what was supposed to be a random Saturday. And THEN. A photographer popped out of the bushes. Like actually out of the bushes. And whisked them away for photos. And when they turned around their entire family and friend group was just... there. Waiting for them. Her parents had flown in from Maryland. Her mom, dad, sister, and TJ — who was absolutely not sick and never saw the inside of an urgent care in his life and deserves an Oscar. His mom, dad, brother Cam — who was definitely not just pet sitting — and his grandparents. Friends who had kept this secret for actual months without breaking. He thought of everything. He got everyone there. He pulled it off without a single leak. Coworkers have called it a masterpiece. We are calling it the best day of our lives. We're still on that high. Genuinely. And it just keeps getting better. 🤍💍🏔️
