I first met Olivia during our time at the University of Michigan through our shared college ministry, SALT Company. SALT launched on Michigan’s campus at the start of her junior year and my sophomore year, but we wouldn’t actually cross paths until the following year. Fast forward to December 2023 – I ran into Olivia one night while we were both out with friends at Garage Bar in Ann Arbor. What began as a brief chat turned into three straight hours of talking, with Olivia doing her best to include our friends as my chair kept slowly turning toward her, stealing all of my attention. That night changed everything. From there, our story was filled with weekends on campus, trips to our hometowns, flights to see each other, and countless FaceTimes. On May 24, 2025, during her family vacation in Stone Harbor, New Jersey, I asked Olivia to marry me - and she said yes! Exactly one year later, on May 24, 2026, we’ll be tying the knot in her hometown of Newport Beach, California. God has been so good to us. We can see His hand in every step of our journey - He had a plan for us long before we even knew it. Every day, we look to Him for guidance as we prepare to start our lives together as the Vogels.
