Austin and I have known each other since we were kids. We grew up going to the same church and only lived 5 minutes from each other for the majority of our lives. Austin had always flirted with me, but I never gave him the time of day until one day I saw a photo of him that made me think maybe I should give him a chance. The tables turned and I was then the one trying to convince him to go on a date with me. Once he agreed, the rest was history! We both look back now and laugh, as that was already 7 years ago.
The day Austin proposed was the best day ever! I was convinced there was no way he would surprise me since I knew him so well and could tell when he was acting different (or so I thought!). It was the day of my youngest brother's graduation party and I was distracted all day by decorating and talking with family and friends. Once the party was coming to an end, some friends and I sat down to have some drinks. I thought it was odd Austin didn't want to have a drink with us- looking back now it is obvious he was very nervous about what was to come. Once everyone had left, Austin took me on a walk through the backyard to a beautiful spot he had set up with the help of our friends and family. It was the most perfect proposal and it was so special to have had it take place in one of our favorite spots.
