We ran into each other at the rock climbing gym at SOU on the first day of 2023 winter term where we were both studying Outdoor Adventure Leadership. We had mutual friends and had crossed paths in a class the term before, but didn't know each other yet. AJ offered to be Liv's belay buddy for climbing and the rest is history! We spent the first week of term climbing together and getting to know one another (as Liv likes to put it: we clicked right away and just never stopped hanging out!), and AJ asked Liv on a date the following week. We went out to dinner at Louie's of Ashland on January 17th, 2023 and have been together ever since! We said the first "I love you" after a partially shared spring break trip with our friends in 2023, moved in together in Ashland in the late spring of 2024 as Liv was finishing her final term of undergrad, moved to Bend together the following summer after AJ graduated, and got engaged on June 18th, 2025 at Smith Rock State Park!
