We are overjoyed by God's provision in our lives both individually and together and are excited to enter into the sacred covenant of marriage. As we prepare for this new chapter, we hold fast to the truth of Scripture that reminds us, "So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate" (Matthew 19:6). Marriage is a beautiful reflection of Christ’s love, and we are thankful to walk into this season with hearts full of faith, love, and gratitude to God for bringing us together. We are also thankful to those who have loved, supported, and poured into us. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
We had planned a trip to Italy in January 2025. Matthew secretly arranged to propose on a sunset cruise along the Amalfi Coast. The day of, the boat tour was canceled due to rough waters and inclement weather. Not wanting to spoil the surprise, Matthew quickly adjusted the plan so the proposal would still happen that night. We ventured to the charming town of Ravello, in the mountains of Southern Italy. In a breathtaking garden overlooking the Amalfi Coast, Matthew asked the big question—and of course, I said yes! We ended the night with dinner and drinks at Da Gemma in Amalfi. We realized that while we can make our own plans, the Lord’s plan is always better and greater. We are grateful that cousins, Isaiah and Julia Owens, were there to capture the moment. You can see those photos in our gallery!
We had been close friends the summer of 2016. When our sophomore year of high school started in the fall, we had grown closer and enjoyed spending time with each other. On November 30th, 2016, we had FaceTimed all night long (literally, from 9PM to almost 4AM). We talked for hours, and while neither of us remembers exactly what we talked about, we both hung up knowing there was something between us that felt like more than just friendship. The rest is history!
