City of Rio de Janeiro
Probably the most emblematic city in South America. As you know, our wedding will take place 2 hrs South of Rio. Since all flights arrive here, we believe that sparing a night or two in Rio de Janeiro is a must do to complete your Brazil experience. We understand everyone´s budget & time, but ideally, we're recommending our guests to take a couple of days in Rio before making it down to the wedding venue. This way you will be rested & ready to party. We visited here after our engagement in 2024 & we absolutely loved the vibes of this city. We recommend staying in Copacabana or Ipanema beach, & spend a day walking its long promenade. Of course you cannot leave Rio without taking a train up to Christ the Redeemer to see one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Buzios
For those with the ability to slip some additional vacation days, we recommend guests to venture two hours north of Rio de Janeiro to visit the beautiful peninsula of Buzios. This stunning place has some wonderful beaches and a secluded feel to it. The road to Buzios is super safe and the highways are well maintained. We recommend renting a car and drive the way there if you are comfortable (this is what we had done when we visited in 2024). There are also tour and shuttle options available. Ilha Grande
Another option for those wanting to spend a couple of additional days in the area. Ilha grande is a large island right across from our wedding site. It would suit those guests wanting to experience being closer to nature and simplicity.
