Little did Bill Head know when he decided to open Arnies on the Levee, a bar in Newport, KY, he would inevitably be providing the location where both his sons would find their future wives. After finishing up a long stay in Italy, Molly came back to the states wondering "What on earth do I do with myself now?", she decided to go back to bartending until she figured out her career path (not like she could have done that in those 5 years at Miami University)... Oliver, equally unsure about the future, was helping run Arnies Bar until he found a sales job elsewhere. After realizing they had the same, (equally weird) sense of humor, the rest was history. Fast forward 4 years and you’ll find the happy couple today, surrounded by their wonderful families, a tight-knit friend group, and a (very) spoiled dog. Oliver and Molly can't image they ever had a life without the other ❤️
With a trip to the Netherlands and Spain a year away, Oliver got to planning the perfect European proposal... He would do it on the island of Menorca. On a catamaran set to take a group snorkeling on the open ocean, (Oliver rented for just the two of them), he planned to pop the question as they were enjoying champagne after their dive. It didn't go quite as planned... The first setback was the discovery that the captain/guide did not speak English, but nevertheless a language barrier wouldn't affect the snorkeling. The second setback came once they realized they couldn't leave the bay because the water was too choppy on the open ocean. With the sun setting quickly, their opportunity to snorkel with daylight came and went before they were able to get into the water. Though they were still having a great time, captain Eduardo was awkwardly hovering near the couple asking frequently "You want picture?" (He knew the proposal was supposed to happen). Disappointed the evening wasn't going as he had planned, Oliver decided to postpone the proposal for a day. The final setback was the owner of the catamaran saying "CONGRATULATIONS!" As they came back to shore from the excursion (Molly pretended not to hear). After a long taxi back to the hotel, the couple decided to take a bottle of Champagne down to the secluded, rocky coast and enjoy the stars. Oliver didn't waste the opportunity and improvised instead. After some quiet reflection and a heart-to-heart, a very nervous Oliver got down on one knee (terrified he'd lose the ring on the dark cliff), and asked Molly to spend the rest of her life with him. Of course she said yes! Thank goodness the day didn't go as planned, the improvised proposal could not have been more perfect. ...We can't wait to spend our special day with you all ❤️
