For anyone who likes hikes, there's a trail in Killington that is relatively easy, and the view from the top is beautiful! There are a few parts that are a little steep, but pretty beginner-friendly. Oliver and I have hiked it a few times and it's a great spot to hike to and sit to have a little picnic. It's beautiful at sunrise if you're an early riser!
For anyone who likes to go fishing, there are options a little closer but Lake Bomoseen is great for fishing. You can go to the boat launch to fish, or there are plenty of places along the way that you could just pull over and cast off! There are signs stating no parking along the area to pull over and fish, but we have never seen a single person follow that rule, so don't worry if you do choose to pull over and enjoy the scenery or have a fishing adventure. You could also go swimming if you want! It might be a little chilly in June, but if you're up for that, go for it!
Oliver and I went here on our second date! There are multiple trails, all are different levels of difficulty. It's a great place to just walk around because there is a trail that is relatively flat, and it's a great place to go biking if that's something you're interested in!
For anyone with kids, if you need something to do to entertain them, Wonderfeet is a great place. Katrina used to work there and they've since expanded their space and have a lot more to offer. It can be a little loud so if your little one is sensitive to noise, be aware they might have a hard time. Saturdays are one of their most popular days. Children under 1 year old are free, and anyone over 1 year old, including adults, are $8. It is very reasonable and you pay for the whole day, so you can come and go as long as you have a stamp on your hand!
This is a little bit far, about an hour, but Glens Falls has some great shopping. Lots of different stores but one of our favorites is Yankee Candle! There's also a movie theater in that area, if you're up for a road trip, it's definitely a spot to check out!
