Dear Friends and Family, We hope this message finds you and yours safe and healthy. 2020 proved to be one of the most challenging years for the world in modern history, and it seems that its aftereffects are still being felt across the globe. As many of you know by now, we were able to celebrate the sacrament of Holy Matrimony in a small 10-person ceremony on May 22, 2020, at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church. Due to the worsening pandemic, we were forced to postpone our wedding celebration until May 22, 2021. Back then, we hoped that the pandemic would be a long-forgotten memory by now, but such is not the case. Due to travel and gathering restrictions imposed by the state of New Mexico, it is with great disappointment and heavy hearts that we (Katherine and Oliver) have decided to cancel our wedding reception scheduled to take place on May 22, 2021 in Sante Fe. We want to thank you all for your incredible patience, and we are sad that we won't have an opportunity to celebrate together in Santa Fe. We wish you all the best year of all and hope to be able to celebrate future milestones together in the future! With love, Katherine and Oliver
Katherine saw Oliver out of the corner of her eye at a local Houston bar, Royal Oak (RIP). She told her friend, Lisa Fred, that she thought he was cute. Lisa said, "I know that guy!" and proceeded to work tirelessly to set them up. It finally happened when Sara, Katherine's sister, came in town to celebrate her birthday. They initially talked at Brooklyn Athletic Club (also RIP), then continued talking at NOTSUOH, and finally cemented their desire to continue this relationship while dancing at Barbarella. It took Oliver a couple days before he finally asked Katherine out on their first date at the Tasting Room, where they talked until closing. It was there that they knew this was something special.
