Travel Note

Travel Overview

We can't wait to welcome guests to this beautiful area and to celebrate with you! We know that accommodation in this corner of the world is not the most budget-friendly, and right from the start we have been focused on trying to make sure that we do what we can to ease the financial stress of attending. We've talked to many accommodation providers and have put together some suggestions below, but please do reach out to us if you're feeling stuck and don't think you can make it work, as we may have additional suggestions or ideas as our wedding plans progress.

Flight

La Guardia/JFK/Newark

Water Mill is relatively easy to get to from any of New York's airports, but will involve first getting from the airport to a LIRR station or Hampton Jitney stop. The easiest option is JFK, as you can take the Airtrain or a quick taxi/Uber to Jamaica station and then get the LIRR direct to Southampton (or other Hamptons stops) from there. See further train info below.

Flight

Long Island Macarthur Airport (ISP)

Avelo Airlines, Breeze Airways, Cape Air, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue Airways and Southwest Airlines all fly into Islip, which is closer than the NYC airports. From there it's a 40-50 min drive to the wedding area. You can also take a short taxi/Uber to Ronkonkoma station and then take the LIRR or Hampton Jitney the rest of the way.

Train

Long Island Rail Road

From NYC, you can take the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) train (usually leaving from Penn Station, and requiring a change in Jamaica) on the Montauk Line to Southampton station (or whichever station is closest to your accommodation). We'll do as much picking up from the train as we can for people without cars, and Uber is usually available in the area as well. If you're flying into or out of ISP, Ronkonkoma is the nearest station.

Hampton Jitney

Not a train but a bus (no icon option for that though), Hampton Jitney can get you from NYC to the area in reasonable coach comfort. They pick up and drop off in various locations, including just up the road from the wedding itself if you need to come day-of. Reach out if you need help/advice with it.

Hamptons Vacation Inn (no availability as at 29/7 but cancellations happen!)

This is our #1 recommendation for lower priced small cottages and rooms, and they have set up a 15% discount code for our guests. Ideally, we will have enough of a concentration of guests here that we'll be able to offer a shuttle service to and from the wedding. Group Bus Hampton Bays <--> Wedding Location

September 6, 2025 3:15 pm - 11:45 pm

We will provide (mini)bus transport from Hamptons Vacation Inn to the ceremony/reception location before the ceremony, and back again at the end of the night. You should have received an email asking you to reply to sign up for this. If you haven’t yet replied, please email catherine.bleakley@gmail.com and let us know who in your party wants a ride, and whether it is both ways or just one or the other. 3:15pm: Depart Hamptons Vacation Inn (177 W Montauk Hwy, Hampton Bays) and travel to ceremony/reception (29 Mill Pond Ln, Water Mill) 11:55pm: Depart ceremony/reception (29 Mill Pond Ln, Water Mill) and travel back to Hamptons Vacation Inn (177 W Montauk Hwy, Hampton Bays)

We haven't checked this one out in person, but it seems to still have availability on the wedding weekend, with king, queen, and twin rooms.

The Atlantic (some new availability as of 7th August)

A hotel that might be lacking in charm, but could be good for those who are happy to share space - they have various options that can accommodate multiple couples/individuals. There is another wedding group at the hotel on our weekend, but it's still possible to book individually. This hotel is directly on the route from Hamptons Vacation Inn (see above) to the wedding, so it's likely that a shuttle stop for guests will be possible here.

Air BnBs

There are many Air BnB / Vrbo options in the area of varying fanciness and cost. If you'd like to organise to share one with other guests but you're not sure who is invited and still looking for accommodation, feel free to reach out to us and we'd love to connect you!

Cedar Point County Park

For those who want that summer camp feeling (and chance to get dolled up in a campground toilet/shower block), Cedar Point offers camping, glamping, and golfing about a 25 minute drive from the wedding site. The booking process seems to be a little tricky, with camping bookings only possible within 180 days of arrival. Glamping tents can be booked through Air BnB without that time window restriction (https://www.airbnb.co.uk/users/show/253685471), but with additional fees. We will update this with further info and advice for bookings once we know more.

An option that's quite a bit pricier than the others, but very lovely and includes complementary beach passes.
