One cold winter friday night in 2018, I came home from a long day of work hoping to relax when my roommate, Allie (bridesmaid and mastermind) dragged me out to her work happy hour. She bribed me with free drinks and food and honestly, who am I to say no. I met a lot of people that night, but one person stood out from the crowd. This man never left my side, followed me and tried to talk to me even when I am not interested. I have never met a man so persistent so I gave this man a chance. We started dating, traveled the world, and took pics of me while I ate (Shohei controls @oliveneats). Fast forward to Aug 2020, he asked if I wanted to go to happy hour in Old Town Alexandria and who am I to say no again. He got down on one knee and asked me if I want to spend forever with him and I think I said yes (it was a blur). People ask how I knew he was the one...I say I met my life long best friend and mentor who I could never live without and in few short months I will have the pleasure to call my husband.
Olivene and I first met at a work happy hour. She was roommates with a co-worker at the time. Armed with liquid courage, she introduced herself and started flirting with me. The rest is history. Since 2018, Olivene has been my travel buddy, wedding date, best friend, and biggest supporter. She makes me want to be the best version of myself and I’m so lucky to have found my person that completes me. On August 21, 2020, I kept repeating “today is going to be a good day”. Olivene didn’t think much of it at the time, but little did she know I was going to get on one knee to propose. Catching her by surprise and seeing the tears of joy will forever be an unforgettable moment. We’re so excited for everyone to join us as we say “I do” next September. Cheers!
