FAQs

Question

What is the best way to get to the venue?

Answer

The Pukehiki church and hall are located in a small township at the top of the Otago Peninsula. Parking at the venue is extremely limited, so we have arranged several buses to transport guests to and from the venue. The buses are scheduled to pick up guests from the Dunedin Railway Station. We recommend claiming a seat on one of these buses, to reduce the number of cars that will need to park at the venue. Please request this when you RSVP, or send one of us a message and we will add you to the list!

Question

Will there be food at the reception?

Answer

Yes, there will be food! We have decided to have a potluck style dinner for our reception. Although some food will be supplied by us, we would greatly appreciate it if those who are able to could bring a plate of food to share. We are vegetarian, along with many of our guests, so if you are able to bring something vegetarian that would be particularly wonderful. We know some of our guests will have travelled quite a long way to attend the wedding - this is more than enough contribution, so please don't feel you need to bring food if this is you!

Question

How do we tell you what we are bringing to the potluck?

Answer

Please fill in our potluck spreadsheet, so we can keep track of how much food there will be! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1M-3FHTm-YNzXjU-TtpJcZ6oChaf0wnnTCoifWX0MFHc/edit?usp=sharing

Question

What will there be to drink?

Answer

The Lemon Pie Caravan bar will be supplying drinks for the reception. There will be an open bar for wine, beer (including non-alcoholic), and soft drinks, and an option to purchase cocktails for those who are feeling a bit fancy!

Question

What will the entertainment be like?

Answer

We hope you are ready to party with us! There will be a band set up at the hall, and everyone is welcome to join in with playing some music. If playing music isn't your thing, then we hope you are looking forward to dancing! A couple of our friends will be coordinating the music. If you have any ideas on songs that could be played, please let us know in the RSVP.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

Due to space constraints, we are only able to include children of immediate family in our wedding.

Question

Do you have a registry for gifts?

Answer

We aren't expecting gifts, as it is lovely enough that you are coming to celebrate with us! If you are wanting to give a gift though, a contribution to either our honeymoon overseas or one of the projects around our house would be greatly appreciated! We have been in our home for several years now and are well equipped with home items, but we are planning to build a deck in our backyard. We will have a box available on the day for letters or cards, and if you have any questions you can email us at: oliveandbene@gmail.com
