Our first date was Pride Week, 2021 (how gay is that?). Hannah arrived early, out of nerves, and Olena was convinced that speed walking on a sunny 90 degree day for 40 minutes was a great idea. As soon as we sat down we were like whoa, this is something. As we continued talking we learned that one was a teacher during COVID and the other a nurse so we agreed we didn't want to talk about that with each other, only fun stuff. We would have time to get into all that, after all. We continued seeing each other, adopted more cats, moved from Brooklyn to Jersey City, traveled the world, grew our friend circles, fell in love. Upon returning from a trip home to Ukraine, Olena proposed at Riis Beach, where we had our second date. At sunrise. Again, how gay is that? We celebrated our engagement with all of our local friends that day, dancing well into the night (shoutout DJ Anthony Romano!) We then legally tied the knot on Friday, December 13, 2024. We are so looking forward to celebrating our love with our closest friends and family. We want to eat, drink, and dance with you all. Maybe we will even cry some tears of joy. Brooklyn is where we met, and we are excited to celebrate our wedding where it all began with all of you. See you soon!
