Matt & I are high school sweet hearts! Throughout the fall of 2013 we had multiple classes together and became close friends while forming a stronger connection for each other. Then in the winter of 2013, I decided to work at my local golf course as a buser and on my first day I turned around to meet the buser who would be training me, and it was Matt! Throughout this time our connection grew stronger and I knew then, I was in trouble. I was not allowed to date at the time, so I found every excuse in the book to say no to his dates. Luckily for me, February rolled around and the snowball dance was coming up. I knew this was my chance to go on a date with Matt! On February 15th 2014, we attended the snowball dance together and at the end of the night he asked me to be his girlfriend. Of course I said YES and we've been together ever since, and it has been the best 9 years of our lives! I'm so glad I said yes that night because Matt is my absolute best friend and soul mate.
Matt & I took a trip to door county to see all the fall colors. We went to Cave Point County Park to hike for the day. While we were on the cliffs, I was taking pictures and Matt said "take a picture of this" and when I turned around to see where he was pointing to, he was down on one knee. He said "you've been my best friend for 8 years, will you be my best friend forever?" Of course I said YES! We spent the rest of the day celebrating our engagement. We walked along whitefish dunes state park. we visited door county winery and got celebratory wine and wine glasses. We finished the night with steak dinners and delicious cheese cake. It was so fun to call all of our family and share the news! we felt very loved.
