I used to hear about him sometimes through my friend who is his sister but I never met him because he lived out of state. His sister and I decided to plan a casual dinner at a restaurant where she would invite her siblings and husband and I would invite my friends. It was on this fateful day, July 1st, 2023 that I would meet Olaoluwa. I had no intention of dating my friend's brother or anyone else for that matter but his persistence, timing, consistency, patience and dedication to getting to know me and making me happy amazed me very single time. He was so certain from the beginning that God had sent me to him and we were meant for each other. Next thing I knew, we were hiking and having cute gym dates. We took marriage success classes together in church before we officially started our relationship and used these topics as avenues to discuss difficult topics to make sure we were aligned and God spoke to us through it all! Before I knew it, we were praying together, reading the bible together, delving deep into the marvel universe on Disney and discussing every aspect of our lives together. Even though we didn't fully understand it at the time, it was precious that he got to meet my mum a couple times and was able to spend time with her, he got teachings from her and her blessings I'm grateful to God for the journey so far and excited for where he's taking us!

Despite logging thousands of miles and countless trips, the art of timely arrivals and seamless check-ins has always eluded me. This isn't leading to a tale of meeting at an airport, though; our story is a bit more divine. It all began during the chaos of holiday travel to be with family. A ticket was booked, but in typical fashion, arrival at the airport was just 30 minutes before takeoff. Predictably, the seat was given away due to late check-in, or perhaps the flight was oversold. Stranded and frustrated, little did I know, my future wife was waiting at the other end of that flight. A text was sent to my brother-in-law, informing him of the high probability of missing the flight. His response was simple: pray about it and don't worry. At that very moment, faith was placed in God’s plan. Against all odds, the flight was made. That blessing from God led to meeting her. That serendipitous journey, marked by faith and a bit of divine intervention, is something eternally grateful for. And the rest, as they say, is history.
