A chance encounter at work sparked a connection. One day, a playful note on a coffee cup led to a phone call, and soon after, a memorable first date. We discovered a shared passion and a deep respect for each other, setting the stage for a beautiful love story.
In the morning, my sister-in-law took me out for coffee, where I received my first clue—leading to a relaxing pedicure. During my pedicure, I was handed clue number two, which brought me to lunch with Steph and my parents. At lunch, clue three was revealed, guiding me to an escape room—something I absolutely love. After completing the escape room, I received clue four, taking me to my elementary school, where I shared a special memory. Clue five then led me to my intermediate school, sparking another cherished memory. From there, clue six directed me to my high school, the place where my journey as a music educator began. Clue seven brought me to my college, WIU, specifically the recital performance center where I showcased my musical talents and continued my education toward a bachelor’s degree in music education. Clue 8 took me to a place close to my heart: the coffee shop where I first met Steph. Over coffee, we reminisced about the day we met and our first date, which also took place there. Clue nine led us to the Crafty Coop, where we painted pottery together. We chose a small house to display in our home—a beautiful symbol of our shared future. Finally, the last clue directed me to my grandmother’s house. This was incredibly meaningful to me, as the clue read, "Take me to the home of the wife of Dick Miller." My great-grandfather, whom I had a deep bond with and now honor with a tattoo, had always held a special place in my heart. As I entered the house, I was handed a stunning bouquet of roses and led to the backyard. There, under a gazebo adorned with candles, flower petals, lights shaped like "S" and "K," and balloons that read "Will you marry me," Steph got down on one knee. Overcome with tears of joy, I said yes to spending forever with the love of my life.
