Portsmouth offers so many great restaurants and things to do! Some popular places are: Strawberry Banke Museum - This is an outdoor history museum. It is the oldest neighborhood in New Hampshire to be settled by Europeans, and the earliest neighborhood remaining in the present-day city of Portsmouth. Prescott Park - This is a 10 acre park along the waterfront with beautiful gardens that makes for a great stroll. USS Albacore Museum - Here you can tour the USS Albacore which is a research submarine that was designed by the U.S. Navy to test experimental features used in modern submarines.
Some of our personal favorite spots in Maine are: The Cliff House - This is a hotel that's perfect for a delicious lunch and beautiful view. It's a perfect pair for a day trip to downtown Ogunquit, a walk along Marginal way, or a visit to Perkins Cove. Kennebunkport - Here you can find plenty of locally owned shops and delicious restaurants. Ogunquit - This is a small seaside town where there are many locally owned shops and great restaurants. Perkins Cove - We love to park in downtown Ogunquit and take a beautiful walk along the cliff on Marginal Way over to Perkins Cove. The total walk is about 1.25 miles. However, you can also park in Perkins Cove if you prefer to drive. Perkins Cove used to be a small fishing and artists' community. There are small, locally owned shops, scenic view points, and great restaurants. There is also a lobstering boat cruise that you can take from here that is a quick, fun experience (just be sure to reserve tickets ahead of time). Kittery Outlets
This is a casual restaurant located on the waterfront. We love the lobster rolls and Sangria!
This is another popular casual restaurant (order at the counter & find a table) but it's great for a quick lunch! They also have many delicious gluten free choices for anyone with a gluten allergy.
This restaurant has amazing pizza! It's worth noting that their menu is limited to only pizza and salads.
This is a small restaurant so we recommend making reservations. The chef featured on the Food Network's show, Chopped.
This is a delicious steakhouse that used to be a former judge's mansion.
If you're planning on visiting Kittery during your stay, Bob's Clam Hut has great fried seafood. It's very casual as you order at a window and find your own table, however, it's definitely worth it and a very popular spot!
Although it's a further drive, if you're planning a trip in Maine (closer to the Ogunquit / Kennebunkport area) then Congdon's has AMAZING donuts! These donuts bring back fond memories of Olivia's family vacations in Maine throughout her life. They're definitely a favorite!
This is one of Olivia's favorite breakfast spots in Ogunquit!
They serve delicious modern american tapas!
