Justin has always looked up to Matt and revered the way he approached life. When Justin thinks of Matt, the most prominent words that come to mind are diligent, respectful, loving, compassionate, and fierce. They have been there for each other through all the ups and downs, cultivating a closer relationship through every step of the way. Hayley and Jessica first crossed paths in the halls of Berklee’s dorms, where they were initially strangers but quickly discovered they shared more than just a building—they shared a wall and the same church! Unfortunately, it would take a few years for them to realize they were meant to be more than neighbors and “church friends.” First, they needed to graduate, which they did, before moving to Los Angeles at the peak of COVID. There, they became inseparable—“Zess and Zale.” They spent their days together, hitting the gym, sharing meals, laughing through the highs, and crying through the lows—building a connection that went far beyond friendship.

Matt met one of his best friends at Cal Poly, Pomona, on a memorable day at the gym. While he was lifting weights and struggling with a challenging shoulder press, Matt noticed his struggle and approached him to lend a helping hand. This simple yet significant act of kindness sparked an instant connection between them, marking the beginning of a remarkable friendship. As they began to spend more time together, they discovered shared interests and decided to join the same fraternity, Sigma Chi, further solidifying their bond. Together, they created countless memories, traveling the world and attending concerts that defined their college experience. Their friendship flourished as they navigated the ups and downs of student life, eventually deciding to live together in a house just steps away from campus. This home became a sanctuary filled with laughter, late-night study sessions, and unforgettable moments, from spontaneous boat shows to heartfelt conversations, making their journey together one they will cherish for a lifetime.

Kelsey met Jessica on their scavenger hunt during orientation week of college. They both bonded on “not having friends” and….. surprise!!!! They became the best of friends! Jessica is a dear friend to Kelsey because of how genuine and kind she is. Kelsey took time to open up to Jessica, but now she is the one person Kelsey can call for anything. Jessica has a comforting heart, so any place with her feels like home!

Caleb met Matt when they were freshman at Cal Poly. They spoke once and didn’t reconnect until sophomore year. They coincidentally ran into each other at a music festival and the unbreakable friendship began. From joining Sigma Chi, majoring in industrial engineering, LA nights, working for the same company, and more memories than one can count, Caleb is most excited to stand by Matt as he takes this important step in life. This has turned from a friendship to being family.

It all started in sixth grade! Jessica and Lucy were attached to the hip and the whole Monterey Peninsula caught onto it too. Whenever someone asked Lucy how she was, they’d ask about Jessica too and vise versa! The two girls have enjoyed sharing their life together ever since and look forward to seeing where their futures may take them together.

Joe will never forget the day he met Matt and what event cemented them as brothers. They were in junior high, hanging out at church with friends, and somehow found themselves goofing around in that abandoned building nearby. Who knows how it happened, but they found themselves in a 1v1, 12-man tournament for glory and honor. They didn’t know any better at that time, so they all came together to carry out this ingenious plan. Two young men (who had just met hours earlier) got matched up with one another in a battle that resulted in a lot of pain. Joe was in shock after being injured, but what really stuck with him to this day wasn’t the pain or the fact that he was injured. It was how quickly Matt reacted, how he immediately apologized, and how genuinely concerned he was. That moment showed Joe what kind of individual he is — someone who isn’t just about fun or winning; he cares about doing things the right way. That’s something Joe has always admired about him. Since that day, it was clear how much of a brother he is to Joe, and he feels lucky to have him in his life. Love you, Matthew!

Maddie has known Jessica all her life — a privilege few can say. She doesn’t remember the first time they met. Maddie’s brain hadn’t yet developed enough! For her, Jessica has been a constant, a morning star in an otherwise clouded sky. Over the years she has spent with her, they have shared laughter, tears, lifelong memories, and innumerable milestones, and from Jessica, Maddie has learned a valuable lesson: love begets love, and facing the day with a smile inspires, cultivates, and nurtures more happinesses, however big or small. It takes incredible bravery and a kind heart to be someone who can find and welcome joy in every moment. Jessica, we all know, has both in spades, and her love will continue to light all our lives. Matt and Josh met in preschool and instantly knew there was something special about their friendship. From the time they met they were inseparable. From weekly sleepovers to playing games, they did everything together along with their group of friends. One thing you will always hear, if you meet either of them for the first time, is “this is my oldest friend” and it is a testament of the bond they share. Josh was immediately drawn to Matt for his honesty, kindness, willingness to listen and genuine character. And to this day, they are closer than they have ever been.

Molly and Jessica met when they were 5 and 8 years old, and have been best friends ever since. They’ve enjoyed countless laughs, music sing-alongs, and family vacations together. Molly, Jessica, and Tiffany call each other sisters, and will be for life!

Kyle remembers the first day meeting Matt through a friend at Cal Poly. Matt would soon join the Sigma Chi Fraternity where he and his big bro, Kyle would become extremely close. Their friendship was so strong, they even won an award for “Best Big and Lil’ Bro”. To this day, Kyle considers Matt as family. A year could go by without seeing each other and the friendship would still not skip a beat.

Sesley and Jessica have known each other since birth. They grew up together and have been on many family vacations together throughout the years coining the term “Oh-Hahn-a” which means family :) Despite having never lived in the same city, they have so many similar qualities and would consider each other sisters as well as each other’s other half!

Sam and Matt had been acquainted since childhood, but it was during their early college years that their friendship truly flourished. Both found employment at the same restaurant, which served as the catalyst for their deepening connection. Almost immediately, they recognized the myriad of shared interests and values that united them. Sam holds Matthew in the highest regard, considering him not merely a friend but a brother. Their journey together has been fraught with challenges, yet it is precisely these trials that have forged an unbreakable bond between them.
