It began at Trinity, the college where we both decided to go as young adults and God providentially brought us to. You had already been there a year when I showed up. The first time I remember seeing you and interacting was at the Y when we were at the pool and you came over to where I was sitting. From the beginning it has been easy to talk to you, and I’m grateful for the companionship we found in each other. The time at Trinity as students provided for us an opportunity to start a Bible study together with a group of friends. This became a chance to grow closer and see the Lord at work in each other. Then, as the time drew near for us to graduate - you first, then me - our relationship grew more distant (a lot actually, and I take blame for that). Over the next few months, after I graduated and moved away, there wasn’t much contact between us, but there was still an undeniable connection that was never fully severed. Then finally, when the Lord saw fit to bring it to pass, we rekindled our friendship during the time of quarantine. It was Easter when you reached out to me and we’ve never stopped talking since. I’ll always remember when you asked if you could come to visit and spend time with me and my family. That was such a gift. And during that time, in ways that I couldn’t even imagine...they seemed too good to be true, God made clear to my heart and yours that this was indeed a union worth pursuing. At that point, I knew I not only could see myself living the rest of my life with you, but desired for that to come true. Graciously, that has unfolded for us...after the time at my parents, we spent time together in Tampa, then in North Carolina, and finally in Kansas (which is where you asked me to marry you!) Saying yes to that question came as naturally as taking my next breath. You are my best friend. I can’t wait to be joined together and live this life by your side for the rest of my days.

“From strangers to closest living relatives” A few years ago when I noticed you at the Y I approached you then, with a simple “hi...” But now, I simply never want to say good bye! It’s crazy to think, it was a meeting with fate- that one day God would bless, and you’d become my helpmate! :) To serve Him together, it’s glorious grace, and it’s oh so apparent- each time I see your smiling face He established our friendship And I’ll always be grateful He’s brought us so far And He’ll forever be faithful Life’s not about us We know this is true To testify of His grace It’s what we live to do Whatever happens in this life- His will we can trust Our God is so good And He is for us Christ laid down his life- His love for the church made clear I pray to be used by my Savior- to show such great love to you, my dear
