Jennifer and Daniel met in Raleigh, NC, labor day weekend 2016, through mutual friends. They both agreed to help their mutual friends fix up their new house. When they first saw each other, there was instant chemistry. Jennifer couldn't help but notice his great smile and baby blue eyes. Daniel was more interested in Henry than Jennifer. They spent the weekend working away on the house, fishing on the dock and enjoying a pedal trolley in downtown Raleigh. It just so happened they were both living in the Washington D.C area. Daniel was about to hitchhike back to D.C when Jennifer and Henry saved the day! They all drove back together with the top down and the wind in their hair. They sang their hearts out to red hot chili peppers the whole way back. Henry was so small he slept the whole way on Jennifer's lap. Daniel asked Jennifer out on a date back in Alexandria and the rest is history! They have been inseparable ever since. Daniel, Jennifer, and Henry are the three best friends anyone could have!
Daniel had planned to take Jennifer away to celebrate her 30th Birthday doing her favorite activity, skiing. They planned to go to Snowshoe Ski Resort in West Virginia. It was a rainy February and most of the snow had melted away. In the days leading up to the trip the forecast was looking grim. It was going to be warm and rainy the whole time. Jennifer was on the verge of canceling, but Daniel insisted they go. Away they went. It was a cute little resort with fun bars and restaurants. The snow was a different story; it was bare and brown. They woke up early on March 1st, all ready to hit the slopes but it was pouring! The rain didn't deter them for long. Jennifer was determined to ski on her birthday, Daniel had other plans. They skied for a few hours and decided to quit when their last piece of clothing was wet. They dried off, went to lunch, and shopped around. They stopped into a cute little shop, Daniel pulled Jennifer close and said "don't we look so cute?", Jennifer replied and said "you know what would look better?", she gestured to her ring finger and scurried away laughing. A few stores later, Daniel was rushing her out. Jennifer thought this was his typical allergy to shopping starting to itch so she said " DANIEL! It's my birthday! Can you just let me shop?", " Okay, okay" he replied and went to the door to wait. She finished shopping and they walked out into the monsoon that was waiting outside. Since it was pouring, Jennifer was rushing to get inside. All of a sudden, Daniel jerked her around to slow down her strut. As she turned around, before she could even say a word, he was down on one knee and asked her to be his, forever. She said yes! She cried and cried. It was a birthday to remember and the start of their adventure together.
Anyone that has ever spent any time in the Scranton area knows that there are two things we LOVE; pizza and wings. Usually not at the same time and probably not from the same spot. While Pizza unites us, it can also cause great divides. On a typical Friday night in any local household the question will be asked "Where should we go for pizza?". Some families have their regular spots, others have to make the difficult choice, its never easy and it might end after some yelling. This was a regular occurrence in the O'Hara household between Jennifer and her brothers. You see, the thing about pizza in the Scranton area is, it's all so good and so different. There is square or round, saucy or not saucy, sweeter sauce, onions in the sauce, American cheese blends, secret ingredients. SO. MANY. CHOICES. Whenever Jennifer and Daniel go to visit, pizza and wings are ALWAYS on the to-do list. Daniel didn't believe her when she first brought him to Scranton. Jennifer told him he was about to have the best pizza of his life. Hailing from Wisconsin, the land of cheese, he thought surely he had already found the holy grail of pizza. Boy, was he wrong. Daniel soon agreed that the best thing Scranton has to offer is pizza. You won't find anything like it anywhere else. While you are in town, we want to share our love of pizza with you. Check out our "Ain't no party like a Scranton Party" page for some of our favorite spots. One more thing, we call it "Tray". There are no pies or plan old pizzas to be had here.
