We met in the summer of 2012 on the wooden bridge in Cloquet. Love at first sight wasn’t necessarily true as we were friends for almost 2 years before realizing, “hey, maybe I do like you more than a friend.” And though it’s cliche, “date your best friend” is the best advice I’ve ever given anyone. August 7, 2013 is when we started dating officially, and from little 16 year olds we’ve gone through all of life’s big events together. College, buying a house, getting our dogs, being in our friends’ weddings, becoming an aunt and an uncle, and now becoming Mrs. Oha, there’s nobody I can imagine having more fun with through it all. We’ve grown up together, and I’ve loved every person Nate’s been along this journey. From the gangly teenager I met on that bridge, to the college kid I’d watch play bar league hockey & softball, to the young man who began his first big boy job, to the man he is today; they’ve all been my favorite, and I can’t wait to see who else I get to do life with in the future. -Jordan
On a dream trip to Ireland for my birthday, Nate and I went on a hike up Diamond Hill in Letterfrack, Ireland. Although I was whiny and thought I was going to pass out from an asthma attack, Nate encouraged me to keep going (something he’s good at) until we reached the top. It was a mile and a half one way, and when we reached the top I suggested we just take a self-timer photo and make our way back down. Nate insisted we wait for this lovely group of people behind us to reach the top and take our photo. I handed my phone to a gentleman of the group and went next to Nate, and when I went to put my arm around him he wasn’t there. I looked to my right and he was down on one knee with a ring. I can’t tell you what he said, what I said, all I know is I said yes! I got my very own diamond on Diamond Hill that day 💍
