Our Journey, Our JoyOur Journey, Our Joy

Who says love checks birth certificates?

"I met my fiancée in 2019 in church. At the time, we were just acquaintances - all vibes and insha allah 😂. I was “Bro Uzo of God,” and she called herself “Sis OCI.” Four months later, circumstances forced me to move closer to her area, and suddenly we were heading the same way after every service. Those little walks home opened the door to real friendship. Over time, we discovered that our visions, values, and perspectives aligned beautifully. Friendship soon blossomed into love. We started dating on February 14, 2020. But by July 2021, we had to break up because parental consent didn’t come. We tried again in March 2023, but by June the same year, we faced the same barrier and separated once more. For two years (June 2023 - June 2025), we kept our distance - not out of malice, but to give each other space. But at the fullness of time, the breakthrough came. God used a mentor of mine Hon. Nnamdi Ezeani to reach out to Oge encouraging her to rekindle communication with me even if marriage wasn't happening. That call turned out to be the trigger for new conversations between us. The laughter, late-night calls, and fun we once shared came alive again. And when her mum heard my name during a casual chat, for the first time, it wasn’t met with resistance. That was the beginning of the miracle. The long-awaited consent finally came. Today, we stand as proof of God’s faithfulness. Our journey has been delayed but not denied. I am grateful to do life with my best friend - a woman who believed in me when I had nothing, and who still chose me when there was little. Together, by God’s grace, we will take territories, make global impact, and fulfill destiny." - Uzoma. __________________ "When I first got talking to Bro Uzo (yes, that was his title then 😂 and now too 🤪), it was strictly senior-friend-meets-younger-sis vibes. Fresh out of NYSC in Lagos, job-hunting and full of “million-dollar business ideas,” I found a friend who actually listened. He never dismissed my wild dreams, in fact, he fueled them. Then came COVID-19. While the world was locked down, our friendship opened up. We had more time to talk, laugh and pray. My prayer life went from 0 to 100 real quick. I started dreaming dreams that came true almost instantly. God blessed him with the gift of vision. I “downloaded” his gift of visions by simply being in his spiritual WiFi range. (Somebody shout POWER!)🔥🤣 What sealed it for me was how balanced he is. His perspectives are wise yet playful, deep yet lighthearted. I’d come back from work just to give him the full gist of my day, knowing he’d listen patiently and then drop hot takes that left me laughing, thinking, or both. Add his wit, humor, and that sweet Fanta Diallo charm, and honestly, I never stood a chance😆 Of course, our journey wasn’t a straight line. We had our detours. But when God’s time came, everything aligned. No pressure, no stress, just peace. And now, here we are, writing a new chapter together - in a Good Way and at God’s Time." - Ogechi #GoodWayInGodsTime2025
