Taking ferries are super easy and cheap but infrequent. Walk <5 min from the hotel to the Pognana Lario ferry stop. Fares are 5-10 Euros. Villa Lario is approximately a 1 hour drive for Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP). To get to the hotel, you can rent a car, take an Uber/Taxi, or pre-arrange a driver. Getting around Lake Como is not so easy, so if you plan to go explore the lake and checkout offsite restaurants we recommend renting a car (parking will be available at the hotel). If you choose not to rent a car, we recommend organizing a driver for at least your return from the hotel to the airport. Cocktail attire (jackets required, tie optional, colors encouraged). The ceremony will be outside so dress comfortably for summer. We can't wait to see you all bring out your inner Italians!
Please reference the Restaurant tab for more information. Breakfast will be served daily. We will be serving dinner on July 1st & 2nd (Saturday & Sunday). Please make your own plans for lunches daily and dinner for those arriving early. For those extending their stay after the wedding, we will be hosting an optional pizza party on Monday, July 3rd. We understand that guests may prefer to use this day to explore Lake Como and eat dinner offsite, so please feel free to skip any of the activities and meals on Monday, July 3rd. Como has incredible restaurants to offer which we encourage you to sample. The hotel restaurant is open for lunch and dinner daily for those who want to maximize pool/lake time.
There are endless beautiful little towns around the lake, but one of our favorites is Cernobbio which is about a 30 minute drive from Villa Lario. A quaint old town and home to some of Lake Como's most famous villas, including Villa d"Este. Another favorite is Bellagio, which is also about a 30 minute drive from Villa Lario, is known as the Pearl of Lake Como and is famous for its small yet charming alleys, full of shops, boutiques and restaurants.
Weekend festivities will begin on July 1st at 2pm, with the pool party being the first event, so we recommend exploring that morning. Alternatively, July 2nd is a free day so guests are on their own until 6:30pm when the ceremony will begin.
Our favorite thing to do in Lake Como is get out on the lake, so we'd recommend you rent a boat and find your sea legs! Please reach out to the hotel concierge to schedule any of the following activities: Wooden boat tour of the lake (the hotel can pack you picnic baskets for lunch) Self-captained boating (boating license not required) Watersports (waterskiing / wake surfing / tubing) Jet Skiing (boat license required) Cooking classes Wine tasting Kayaking / Stand-up paddle boarding Yoga classes Spa treatments Waterplane or Helicopter tour of the lake Stroll to Torno - walk along the lakeside
