Now and Forever

October 4, 2014 I made a trip to Atlanta with my friend Rich to mingle with the ladies. We decided to check out Prive. Stepped into a room of about 15 people but only noticed one, a fine young woman in a red dress. Once we made eye contact I made my move. We introduced ourselves, made small talk. I made her giggle, smile went from ear to ear so I figured I did something right. Before leaving I got her number, thanked her for the talk, leaned in and kissed her on the cheek before parting ways. We talked daily but after a month it fell off. We’d occasionally chat briefly every 2-3 months. I hoped at some point we’d reconnect somehow, but I didn’t want to force it. May 14, 2016 I was back in Atlanta to hang out with my boy Jo and friends. We had plans to barhop and enjoy the night at Suite Lounge. While drinking I got a random text. “Hey stranger! I’m in ATL celebrating my birthday! We’re going to Suite Lounge.” My heart stopped. We linked up and brought in her birthday with her family and friends. Soon after we made plans to enjoy a vacation in Vegas in October. I didn’t hesitate to tell her I wanted to date. She was hesitant, but she accepted. We made multiple trips between NY and Atlanta to enjoy each other. I made it my business to learn everything I could about her. I knew I had found my wife. I had to let that be known before leaving for Korea and I did so the night of our first vacation in San Juan, PR. A few days after she starting getting nervous about me leaving soon so two weeks later I took her back to Vegas where we eloped June 30, 2017. Who knew that this stranger, Kaity, would become my girlfriend, best friend, travel partner and lover in a matter of months? I’ve grown to love this woman with everything I am. What God has for you NO ONE can take it away. I thank Him for giving me the wisdom to realize that. Soon, we will all come together as family to celebrate our union and first anniversary. Can’t wait to celebrate with you all. -Dominique
