In August of 2017 Alison decided to continue her schooling in order to become Firefighter. She took this new chapter as a chance to focus on bettering herself and her relationship with the Lord. As she began her physical training with her fellow classmates she offered to help study for their EMT final which she already completed. Jerry, a Marine Corps veteran who is very passionate about fitness, took Alison up on the offer to help him with his studies. As Alison tutored Jerry, Jerry trained Alison, and as they got to know each other the more they realized this was their beginning.

As school continued Jerry and Alison worked together, and neither would have been able to graduate without the other. Their classmates even gave them the nickname of "The Power Couple" due to Alison's brains and Jerry's brawn. After school, they began their search for jobs in their field. Alison started working as an EMT with Lake County EMS and Jerry decided to get his personal training license and graduated at the top of his class. Jerry was then hired at Mount Dora Fire department in December of 2018.

One Sunday in February Jerry had a day full of surprises for Alison that began with going to see an evangelist preach in Orlando. Following the morning service he took her to lunch at a ramen restaurant which is one their favorite places to eat. Later on after they went to see a movie, Jerry told Alison they had to make a stop somewhere before they continued onto their usual church service. Little did Alison know, he was taking her to a lake they had been to before when they first started dating. Once they arrived Alison recognized the spot from one of their favorite memories. As Alison was admiring the view of the sunset, Jerry knelt down on one knee beside her. As she turned toward him, Jerry asked if she would marry him. Saying yes, she couldn't believe this was happening. They decided to celebrate by going to worship service at Jesus Image.
