Our Love Journey

When two hearts become one...

Atalecia was born in Columbus, Georgia. She was a military brat and moved around a lot as a child - her mother was a service member for the U.S. Army which often took their family to many states and countries. Georgia is where she calls home. At the start of her senior year of high school, her family moved back to the U.S. from Germany to Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia. After high school, she began her studies in Computer Science at Augusta State University. Obu is a Nigerian American born in South Orange, New Jersey. His family moved to Georgia when he was young for better opportunities. He had a unique upbringing, growing up in a very disciplined Nigerian household where education was a top priority. Obu is 1 of 5 multi-talented children raised in a spiritual family that taught him a series of foundational principles that have guided him into adulthood. Following high school, Obu attended Augusta State University where he studied Biology. Atalecia and Obu crossed paths a few times, but they were very brief interactions amongst mutual friends. During one of the University’s fashion shows, they were paired to model together, unknowing that their lives would be transformed forever. Obu was attracted to her beauty, physique, and intellect. Atalecia was attracted to his good looks, big personality, and dancing skills. They had an instant, undeniable connection. Obu and Atalecia began spending more time with one another. They helped one another with their studies and encouraged each other through their educational journeys. What started off as a pure and genuine connection transformed into a lifetime of love and an endless partnership. Over the years they grew individually and together, sharing many common interests such as their love for God, family, friends, food, and fitness. They’ve shared and created many memories together. One Sunday after church, they took a mini road trip to her family's lake house. Atalecia thought they were going to meet her family to celebrate her mother’s birthday weekend with a family BBQ. She had last visited the lake house when she was 16 years old and was so excited for Obu to visit for the first time. When they arrived, Obu led Atalecia down to the boat dock where both of their families waited with excitement to greet them. Atalecia was in complete shock and instantly began crying tears of joy. Obu got down on one knee and proposed - SHE SAID YES!
