It all began in sixth grade—but it wasn’t until our freshman year of high school, in a Western Civilization class, that our friendship truly began to grow. After six months of talking, laughing, and getting to know each other, we officially started dating on April 3rd, 2013. We spent our high school days cheering each other on—Caleb on the basketball court, and Kayla on the dance and soccer teams. From school dances to late-night talks, our bond only grew stronger. College brought us to Northern Illinois University, where Caleb walked onto the basketball team and Kayla danced with the Silverettes on the sideline. Those years shaped us and brought us even closer. After graduation, we made a big move to Sarasota, Florida—a place we had vacationed many times and dreamed of living. Caleb began his career, and Kayla started physical therapy school. Sarasota became more than just a new chapter; it became our home. There wasn’t one single moment we knew—we just always felt it. Through every stage of life, we knew we were meant to be together. In December of 2024, Caleb proposed on the beach at Siesta Key as the sun was setting—a place that holds so many of our favorite memories from the past five years. We were surrounded by both of our families. It was simple, beautiful, and perfectly us. Now, after 12 years in the making, we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate our love story with all of the people who mean the most to us. We’re so grateful for this journey and can’t wait to begin our forever, together.
