Allison and Ryan met during their freshman year of college in August of 2018. Allison had just moved out of state from Kansas City to Columbus for school and to be with family in town. Ryan had moved into the city into a dorm room on OSU's downtown campus. Since they were both entering a new chapter of their lives, they joined Tinder to meet new friends and build connections. Allison and Ryan matched and instantly connected. They talked for hours discovering how they had so much in common. Ryan asked Allison on a date to finally meet and have the chance to talk in person. The two met at a local coffee shop and it was love at first sight. Together they sipped on lattes and talked about their hobbies, careers, and goals. The date ended with a stroll around Mirror Lake interlocking hands. After three more dates, Ryan asked Allison to be his girlfriend, which was followed by an excited yes from her. From that point on, Allison and Ryan have spent the years creating a beautiful life together in Columbus alongside their homes-away-from-home in Kansas City and Pittsburgh.

The day started off as any other ordinary Saturday. Ryan woke Allison up with breakfast in bed. They enjoyed a slow morning together and Ryan asked Allison to get ready for a surprise date. They drove together to the idyllic Park of Roses in Columbus, Ohio. The Park of Roses holds a special place in both their hearts as it was where they spent their first dating anniversary. As they were walking around and going down memory lane, Allison had been stopping to take pictures of the roses. Once she had gotten all the pictures she wanted, she turned around to face Ryan: kneeling on one knee with a ring in his hand. Allison was so surprised and full of emotion and Ryan was fighting back his tears. Ryan asked Allison to marry him in this moment and of course she said yes! Afterwards, they reveled in the fun of getting to share the exciting news to family and friends, and topped the night off by celebrating their engagement at the Refectory while sharing their excitement for the future.
