I first met Kevin in college at a super bowl party, and I remember him being full of life, and a little beer. I couldn’t tell you a single thing that happened in that game, which is pretty normal for me, but Kevin on the other hand spent his night by my side rather then in front of the game, which I can now say isn’t normal for him. I didn’t know Kevin, and honestly I don’t know what we talked about, but I know I spent the rest of my night laughing.

The first time I met Kate was at a Super Bowl party in college. I was just hanging out with friends and she kept catching my eye across the room. I wanted to talk to her but didn’t have the confidence. I quickly thought of using one of my friends near her as an excuse to converse with her and threw a couple more beers back to help build the confidence. I spent the entire night with a huge smile on my face, laughing with her, and trying to leave my impression. When the party ended I was left wishing I had more time.

The next time I saw Kevin was about a month later at a dynamic duo social. Kevin found his way to my side again, and It only took him a mater of minutes to have me laughing and smiling the same way he did the first night. From that day on Kevin found any excuse he could to check in and see me smile. I was drawn to Kevin for his goofy sense of humor and caring heart. Slowly Kevin and I grew closer and before I knew it our relationship took off. I had completely fallen for Kevin before I even realized I was in the processes of falling. We spent every moment we could together exchanging the same laughter that brought us together. Kevin and I were inseparable. Later that year Kevin decided to join the military. I loved Kevin and his passion to be apart of something greater. Though it was hard for me to let him go, Kevin believed in something and I believed in him which made all the challenges we were about to face worth it. Kevin left for basic training September 19th, 2017 and we have been long distance ever since. Though the distance has been anything but easy, it has shown me that I never want to live a life without Kevin by my side. 2 years later I can now say on April 18th, 2020 I get to spend the rest of my life laughing, kissing, and loving Kevin Craig.

A month later I saw Kate at another event, this time it was much easier to interact. I was full of joy again and was starting to catch feelings for her. Kate was having a bad night so I spent the night cheering her up. At the end of the night she told that I was a good guy and I thought to myself “Oh no! What have I done! I’m definitely in the friend zone!”. Finally I saw her at my 20th birthday. A bunch of my friends had thrown me a party but all I could think about was how to get Kate there. When she finally showed up my birthday wish had come true. Once again I spent my entire night with huge smile on my face. After that we started seeing each other daily and my world got so much brighter. At the end of the semester I made my decision to join the military which was something I wanted to do my whole life. I was in love with Kate and wanted to be able to support her, so I asked to take this huge leap of faith with me. We have now been long distance for quite a while but our love has never faltered. I prayed for someone like Kate my entire life, but she was better than what I could even ask for. Now I get to spend every day of my life loving the woman of my dreams, and trying to impress her like I have since the first day I met her. April 18th 2020 can not come soon enough.

This was Kevins first time back in Savannah scince he left for basic training two years before. He had told me he had a whole day planned for us, and usually for Kevin this meant there was no plan at all, but not this time. We started the day at chromatic dragon, which was one of our all time favorite places to go when he still lived in savannah. We spent about an hour or so playing games together (with me always winning of course). The next place he took me was down to river street to a small greek restrant where we had our first date years ago. At this point I was pretty impressed with Kevins planning but didn’t think much else about it. Finally Kevin and I walked up to city market where Kevin decided he need to “sit for a minute”. As we sat, Kevin pulled up a highly embarassing and less than impressive video of me dancing in that very spot 2 years ago. As I watched Kevin explained that in that very moment he not only knew he loved me, but that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. When I finally turned to Kevin he was down on one knee and right then what I thought would be another classic Kevin planned day, quickly turned in to the best day ever.
