We met on the first day of the Spring 2019 semester at Delaware Valley University. In our first class, everyone went around the room to briefly introduce themselves; since we were both in the Organic Farming Program, we each took special notice and instantly thought the other was cute. Throughout the semester, we both tried to get to school at the same time so we could walk in together, and tried to time it right so that we could walk out together (not knowing the other was doing the same). We always tried to casually figure out ways to spend time together...we both felt like little school girls with a crush!
Chris went out to close up the chickens after we spent the day working on the farm, and came back excited saying one of the chickens finally laid their first egg (we had been waiting for a while). Emily was excited and wanted to go see! While walking to the coop, Chris informed her that he hadn’t been completely honest with her...the chickens had actually started laying the day before and that he had something else to show her. A few steps past the coop, Emily saw something lit up in the distance and had a feeling she knew what was coming. Chris brought her over to what he had set up earlier in the day (as you can see from the picture, he did a great job!) and got down on one knee. She said yes!
