This old-school seafood restaurant is full of charm and deliciousness for dinner by the ocean. Andrew had the biggest fried calamari steak ever! Cash only.
Upscale dinner spot with a great local wine list.
Tacos and burritos that far exceeded our expectations.
An oldie, but a goodie. Solid food and beer. You'll find something for everyone here!
Ramen for a quick bite. Some of the best we've ever had, seriously.
Massive Mexico City style tacos and tortas...what else do you need to know? Andrew went two days in a row. The Azteca was a favorite, and happens to be vegetarian. Add a fruit agua fresca while you're at it.
Lovely outdoor space to have a beer and let kids run around. Live music often.
This is a must-see historic landmark. Publishing magnate William R. Hearst built an insane European castle here between 1919 and 1947. If you like history, architecture, and priceless works of art, this is your museum (with a gold tiled swimming pool, to boot). Guided tours take you up the hill on a bus; bonus views from the top. Highly recommend!
Order-at-the-counter pasta, sandwiches, and lasagna.
OK, you gotta trust on this one: Thai-style enchiladas.
The only coffee in SLO that Andrew is willing to recommend.
Cute cafe and roastery in the tiny town of Harmony. Andrew-approved.
An adorable farm-themed motel that serves a popular brunch. (We really enjoyed staying here, but have never had the brunch.)
The first winery we ever became members of as a couple! Their space (and Syrah) is incredible.
A collaboration with the Perrin Family of Chateau de Beaucastel in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Their Marsanne and Roussane shine. Andrew loves the Mourvedre.
It feels like every winemaker in the area started here. Come for the sultry Rhone blends, stay for the secluded vineyard views.
Classy tasting room and wines from the winemaker of Clos Solene.
Swanky, hip, and utterly delicious. Their cellar is so cool ;) Pop culture enthusiasts will recognize it as one of two wineries that hosted Taylor Lautner's wedding.
Small, family run winery with a French winemaker. Among the finest wine we've had in the area. They focus on Rhone blends.
Wine for wine nerds! The newest project from Raj Parr (for all of you who watched the Somm movies). The wines are modern and experimental, but the complexity is through the roof. Delightful farmhouse vibe near the coast.
