Yes, our wedding will be a Catholic traditional Latin mass. We are also having what is called a high mass held, so mass will be expected to last an hour and a half.
This is a formal event Men: It is preferred suit-coat and ties or dress pants and dress shirts(long sleeves please). Jeans and other casual attire are inappropriate for attendance at mass. Women: While in in the chapel, heads must be covered; veils or dress hats are both options. Slacks, shorts, sleeveless, tight, or low cut clothing are not permitted, dresses and skirts must cover the knee completely when standing or sitting. Please reach out to the bride Madison directly at 480-717-0224 for questions on the dress code.
Our ceremony will be help in the largest building visible from the road. Our reception will be the building nearest the playground, also known as the hall.
When walking inside the church, the initial entrance area has a bathroom for men located on one side and a ladies restroom on the other side. For the reception we would be happy to point you to the restrooms in the hall at the time of the reception.
While non-catholic attendees are welcome to stay seated when they do not know what is happening, we have made an effort for the fellow catholic guests to be situated towards the front so it's easier to watch guests if you want to try to follow along. There are also wedding booklet guides to read, but as the ceremony will be mainly in Latin we understand it can be confusing.
12546 W Peoria Ave, El Mirage, AZ 85335, Our Lady of the Sun Catholic Church. Located off major cross streets, West Peoria Avenue and North El Mirage Road.
There is a large parking lot at the church which should have plenty of parking for all guests, including disability accessible spots.
As our reception will be mid afternoon, rather than a conventional meal time, we plan to offer snack sized food and refreshments.
We have opted for a dry wedding due to the location of our reception and for cost reasons. We appreciate your understanding.
