FAQs

Please see the Q&A below to help you with planning your trip!
Question

What should I do if I can't make it to the wedding?

Answer

You will be missed, but not to worry! If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly!

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We have discount codes for two hotels in Mukilteo, but we have provided recommendations if you prefer to experience the city of Seattle instead! Please see the travel tab for details.

Question

Where will the ceremony and reception take place?

Answer

The ceremony, reception, and cocktail hour-ish will all take place at the Rosehill Community Center - the ceremony will likely be outdoors, the reception will be indoors.

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

There will be a bus leaving from the TownePlace Suites at 3:15pm, and from the SilverCloud Inn at 3:30pm. Meet in the respective lobby. At the end of the night, there will be a bus leaving from the Rosehill Community Center at 9:15, 10:00, 10:45, and 11:30 - it will stop at the SilverCloud and then the TownePlace Suites before returning to the Rosehill for the next pickup. If you Uber or Lyft to the venue keep in mind, Mukilteo is not a huge city, so supply and demand for transportation may impact wait times and prices. If you drive, there is free parking at the venue.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive half an hour before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Last September, the high was 80 and the low was 46, with a 25% chance of rain... because #climatechange, so be checking the weather!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Clothes. Preferably clean and classy looking (ie refrain from jeans or sweatpants). If all goes according to plan, the ceremony will be outside on the lawn, so consider wearing grass friendly footwear. It may be a little chilly, so have a light cardigan or sweater packed.

Question

Are vaccinations required?

Answer

Yes. While we recognize everyone is entitled to their right to choose not to receive a Covid-19 vaccination, we have decided we do not want to assume the risk of spread at our event as most of our guests will be traveling across the country. If you are unable to attend as a result of this request, we are more than happy to share the highlights film with you at an alternate time. Please see below for more information: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html

Question

What happens between the ceremony and the reception?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head straight to the reception hall where we will be serving apps and bevs.

Question

What if there is a song I really want to hear at your wedding?

Answer

We can't promise every song request will make it to the dance floor, but when you RSPV via our website you will be able to make your request.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only (21+) event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the yutes at home so you can celebrate with us.

Question

May I take a centerpiece/candle/flowers home as a souvenir?

Answer

You may take the flowers, but please do not take any glassware or candles home! We are just borrowing them!

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Please! We encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #POSStheSHANpaign so we can keep track of all of your pictures!
