Patrick and Olivia met in 2011 at a Hawk's football game. The two stood next to each other during the Pregame Senior Presentation and hit it off right away. She could tell by the way his kind eyes looked back at her through the small space in his football helmet that he was someone she wanted on her side. He could see in her bright smile that she was full of love. Meeting off the field the two hit it off right away and continued to date throughout high school. They continued their journey together at the University of Rhode Island where they each obtained their Bachelor's degrees and have been by each other's sides ever since.

The night of his alma maters homecoming football game Patrick popped the question. Patrick was working as a coach for his high school football team while Olivia worked coaching the team's cheerleaders and dancers. At the conclusion of the game, a Hawks win, Patrick waited until the start of the homecoming fireworks display to get down on one knee. In front of all of their close family and friends, she said YES. The two were ecstatic to have all of their friends and family around for such a big moment in such a special place!
