Me, just home from graduating veterinary school and beginning my job as a doctor at my home clinic, and David, busy running his own growing lawn care and landscaping business while pursuing an intimate relationship with Jesus to help him heal from heartbreak 3 years earlier, catch each others eye at church. But both being shy, and both praying to God to lead us to "the one" He wants us to spend the rest of our life with worshipping Him in His time, we keep our distance for a while. Both unknowing at the time how, with that look, God was fixing to really show out at just how PERFECT HIS timing is! About 1 month after I started going to what would become our church, David mustered up the courage to introduce himself to me - with a little nudge from our chiropractor and other mutual friends. He was nervous, and to his defense he did have to introduce himself to me at the same time he introduced himself to my parents - out in the church parking lot. But after he did he asked if I would be interested in going to get some ice cream that night and get to know each other - I agreed but said "I am going to drive." That kind of threw him for a loop for a second but then he came back with "okay I'll just ride with you then" - which I was not expecting and neither were any of his friends at church watching from afar. But he got in the truck with me that night and the rest is history. We began getting to know each other and very shortly realized this was "the one" God intended for the other as we each had wants and high expectation for a spouse that the other was perfectly answering. For me, David was the chivalrous, hardworking, religious leader and man of God that I had always prayed for. And for David, I was the smart, Jesus loving, southern woman that likes cattle that he had been searching for. After spending eight short months getting to know each other and feeling like we had known each other for years because we were just so comfortable together, David gave me my dream proposal and I said YES! So here we are enjoying our engagement and anxiously awaiting our dream wedding...all in God's perfect time.
