Father of the Bride
Fun fact: Alan hates onions but loves to eats onion rings. Alan enjoys a multitude of hobbies including, raising chickens, playing with his 5 dogs, working on his deck and purposely aggravating his wife because it's funny. The Bride has a special relationship with her dad. Usually when loud family debates start, they make eye contact and sing in unison, "love is in the air". Alan is the kind of daddy a girl can depend on. Whether it was a Barney band-aid for a skinned knee, money for the movies on a Friday night or emotional support after the first broken heart, he was there. The thing that brings Christina the most joy is how amazing of a Papa her daddy is. The Bride feels blessed and honored to have her dad walk her down the aisle.
Mother of the Bride
Fun fact: Cynthia burned the biscuits at every major holiday dinner until her children became adults and taught her how to bake. When Christina was little, she thought that her mom was the most beautiful woman in the world. When Christina was a teenager, she thought her mom was just the worst and like so totally unfair. As an adult, the Bride looks to her mother for parenting advice and prays that she is as gracefully beautiful as her mother is today. Cynthia taught Christina that all people deserve kindness. She taught Christina that women are strong and capable of anything they put their mind and hearts into. Cynthia also taught Christina that climbing into a bed with freshly cleaned sheets is delicious.
Mother of the Groom
Fun fact: Renee has a super power! She is able to make anyone who is around her feel comfortable. The first time the Bride met her future mother in law she very nervously blurted out that Matt was basically her soul mate and that they were going to spend their lives together. Renee could have been freaked out by such a strong statement but instead she was supportive. Renee had her hands full as a mother. It was not easy raising 3 children but she did an amazing job. All of her children have grown up to be kind hearted, generous all around amazing human beings. Her love and devotion as a mother has made the world a little bit better. The Bride and Groom are honored to have her present at their special day.
Most important kid
Fun fact: Atreo Loves Pokémon! Atreo is the Bride and Grooms son. They love him very much! Atreo enjoys playing Pokémon card games with his dad, playing Pokémon on his DS and reading books with his family. Atreo is an inspiring author and illustrator of his own comics. Atreo's best friend is Timothy. Atreo likes to eat pizza at Costco on Sundays with his Titi and friend uncle Justin. Atreo feels very grateful that he has a new grandma Renee, A new uncle Daniel and a new cool hip tia Hannah! Atreo has the very important and prestigious job of assisting his papa in walking the Bride down the aisle.
Maid of Honor
Fun Fact: Kami was once a brunette. SHH we don't talk about those dark days! (pun most definitely intended). Kami is the kind of person who never gives up on people. She sees the good in everyone. She enjoys helping you see the good in yourself. Sometimes Christina wonders how Kami can manage to fit so much love into her heart. Kami and Christina share a very deep and personal bond. The kind that can only be shared between a sponsor and sponsee. Their friendship will be one that lasts a lifetime. Christina would also like to point out that she is Kami's very first sponsee and therefore the best and most loved.
Best Man
Daniel has the misfortune to have grown up as Matt’s little brother. However, that has been Matt’s great fortune, as he has had a wonderfully supportive and infinitely kind brother to be there for him when he needs him most. Daniel inspires his older brother, and it is Matt’s great honor to have him as his Best Man. Daniel has a caring gene that Matt tries to emulate, and it has made Uncle Daniel a quick favorite of Atreo’s. Atreo routinely tells Matt about how he “can’t wait to show your brother Daniel” anything and everything he can think of.
Bridesmaid
Fun Fact: Angela has the best style in the family, and she knows it. She is the big sister of the Bride. When they were kids Angela told Christina that she was adopted and soon their parents were going to ship her to another country. There, Christina would work in a factory making tennis shoes and eating mush. They have come very far since those days. Now Angela is the Bride's best friend. They enjoy shopping at Costco on Sundays and video chatting about absolutely nothing. Christina Loves her big sister dearly and looks to her for guidance. Sometimes they get on each other’s nerves, but they wouldn't have it any other way!
Groomsman
Matt first met Danny just after Matt had graduated high school, teaching summer camps as instructors at local high schools. Learning the ropes together, they quickly began to bond as fellow teachers. A few years later, after the chaos of life had taken its toll, Danny reached out to Matt to come help him teach a local school, and they have been best friends ever since. After living together for what feels like a decade, though just short of it, Danny speaks fluent “Matt”, knowing how to interpret Matt’s sometimes… gruff way of trying to help. Between that and his wise advice, Danny has saved Matt from himself and others countless times.
Bridesmaid
Fun fact: Hannah acts sassy but really she has a heart of gold. When shopping for Christmas gifts, she supported local businesses that were effected by covid-19. Hannah is the Grooms little sister. Matt tells anyone that will listen that his sister is superior to him. He frequently reminds Christina that Hanna is smarter and far more clever than him. He says it with pride. The first time Hannah met the Bride, she demanded that she be a bridesmaid in their wedding. The couple had only been seeing each other for a few months. Christina knew in that moment that Hannah was just as crazy as she was and that she couldn't wait to be Hannah's big sister.
Groomswoman
Ally has known Matt since high school, being a few grades apart, though they didn’t become the best of friends until years later. The two were reunited by teaching together as a trio with Danny Perez. Since then, they’ve grown to be family, sharing years of living together and all the struggles and victories life brings. They have very literally carried each other through hard times, with Ally having been much easier to carry. It was only recently that Matt truly gained an understanding for what Ally has gone through in years as a child caretaker. Now he gets it. He REALLY gets it, and appreciates her even more than he ever thought he could.
Bridesmaid
Fun fact: Christina knew Nicole's favorite color was pink before she told her. It was not hard to guess. Every Monday night at 7 PM Nicole would show up to their home group meeting in a pink hoodie. Then Christina saw her a few times out and about and again Nicole was wearing some article of pink clothing. One afternoon after knowing her for a year or so, Nicole told the Bride that her favorite color was pink. Christina told her that she was shocked to the core. How could Nicole drop a bomb like that on our Bride after a year of friendship?! Nicole is Christina's sponsee sister and so much more. Nicole is the kind of person who goes grocery shopping for your favorite foods if she knows your coming over. The Bride is honored to have her as a bridesmaid.
Groomsman
Tyler and Matt were both outstanding members of their high school band, but it was a shared love for all things nerdy that brought them back together years later. Tyler graciously invited Matt to partake in his first D&D game, which Tyler was running… and Matt unknowingly did his best to ruin. Every moment since then, they’ve been the closest of friends, talking for hours about everything from games, to hockey, to reminiscing, to politics, to just sharing wisdom and thoughts on life at large… Tyler teaches Matt a little bit every time they talk, and Matt relishes their time together.
Officiant
Fun Fact: Blaire is good at anything she tries. In fact, I would go so far as to say she is the best I know at all she does. Blaire is Christina's big sister. When they were younger, they would put on puppet shoes, kidnap the family dog and make ransom videos. They turned the garage into fake offices where they scribbled on papers and pretended to be professionals. Blaire is quiet. This is sometimes confused with being shy. However, this would be an incorrect assumption. Blaire observes and listens. When she speaks it is with purpose. Christina admires the depth to which Blaire's love and loyalty flows. There is no one else better suited to unify Christina and Matt.
Ring Bearer
Fun Fact: Jacob loves dinosaurs. He is Christina's nephew. Jacob used to yell, "NO!" anytime his tia Chrissy tried to come near him. Now he likes to half hug her while he hands her things. There has never been a more handsome ring bearer ever in the history of history.
Flower Girl
Fun Fact: Whenever Faye sees her tia Chrissy she says, "where is Atreo?". When Faye laughs, we can't tell if she is happy or screaming because she is hurt. She will be the most greatest flower girl ever.
