We actually met on a dating app where we were a 99% match. Apparently there’s something to be said for their algorithm because 9 years later, here we are!
We were brought together by an algorithm so it shouldn’t be too surprising that our decision to get married was a rational and practical one. We like to travel. There are countries we’d like to visit where we couldn’t share a hotel room unless we’re married. If something were to happen to one of us while traveling, we might not be able to make medical decisions on each other's behalf. We’d already been together for 8 years and own a house together; it just made sense. With a trip to Europe looming, we decided to get married on a Monday, filled out our application for our marriage license on Tuesday, waited the 3 day waiting period, and had the notary public in our office notarize our certificate on Friday. During our lunch break, we dropped off our certificate at the courthouse, got Firehouse subs, and went back to work. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to celebrate our big life moment with our family and friends. So, we hope you’ll be there to celebrate with us on November 11!
