Matron of Honor
Shannon and Oana first met in 6th grade, but didn't become close friends until junior year of high school. Ever since then, we've only grown closer despite living hours apart for most of our friendship. We have helped each other through many of the challenges life has thrown at us and celebrated even more happy things. I had the honor of standing with Shannon at her wedding a couple years ago, and am grateful she will be doing the same for me!
Best Man
John and Mike first met on a project in Pittsburgh in December 2010. The following year, we had connected about John needing another member on his team at Orchard Hill, and the fall of 2011, I moved out to Pittsburgh to work with John. John and I worked together for 4 years furthering Orchard Hill's technical production and experience. John and Amy also became my Pittsburgh family, keeping me grounded during some difficult years there. John mentored me through a lot of growth in leadership and technical excellence. After I left Orchard Hill, John and I remained close friends when I left to work at Amplio. I'm honored to have John as my best man as someone who had such a profound impact on my growth and personality.
Bridesmaid
Karen and Oana's friendship started in 6th grade and we've been there for each other in the 20 years since then. When we got caught passing notes in middle school, we learned a bit of sign language to "subtly" still chat across the classroom. We then spent all our high school years on the tennis court together, learning how to work as a team, as well as some on-court yoga to manage our frustrations! We've had a few chances to travel around the world together in the years since then, and now Karen, her husband, and their sweet daughter Jorie live in Virginia. While we may not see each other all that often, we love sharing our lives through video chats and phone calls.
Groomsman
I can't quite remember when Nate and I met, but it would have been on one of my many visits to Chicago between 2012 to 2014. In 2015, I had been talking to Jeff VG about coming onboard with Amplio, and when I moved out, I started working with Nate, and getting to know him. Nate has been a powerful, driving force at Amplio and has led both the team and myself through significant growth and expansion over the past 6 years. While Nate is my boss, Nate is also someone who I enjoy working with, socializing with outside of work, developing things with, and partnering with to make things better. Even though Nate has challenged me more than anyone I know, his investment in me to become an effective team member and effective human has resulted in huge growth in my life, and I truly appreciate that.
Bridesmaid
Anna and Oana have been friends for about 6 years after meeting in a small group at The Chapel. We had a rare, instant bond as soon as we met and quickly became very close friends. When Anna needed a place to stay during an 8-week summer session of her graduate program, she reached out and we ended up living together for almost an entire year! Being roommates was one of the best experiences of our lives as we helped build each other up every step of the way. No matter how far she's moved away (now in North Carolina!) and how busy life gets, our close bond remains unbroken and just being in each other's presence brings us so much joy!
Groomsman
Josh and Mike met in Pittsburgh in 2011. When I came to work at Orchard Hill, Josh was rowdy high school student who did a ton of work with production and doing lighting for services. Over the 4 years that I got to lead and work with Josh, through up and downs, I watched Josh grow from an off-the-wall high schooler into an excellent lighting designer who was managing most of the things we were doing. After I left and Josh took over leading the lighting, I continued to stay in contact and watch Josh move away to Austin and become significantly more skilled at lighting than I was. Josh has been a great friend to connect with and have, and helped me do some growing and learning as well.
