On a busy night in Rancho Cordova, beneath flickering streetlights and neon signs, with a hum of gentle conversation, fate stirred at a little place called Root of Happiness. It was there, among the clinking of paper cups and the gentle rustle of a cold breeze, that two people unknowingly began their journey toward one another. Nyx arrived first, socializing with the other regulars. Among them were Kody’s friends. As the minutes went on, the conversation between Nyx and Kody's friends ranged a plethora of topics before leading to one that his friends decided she needed to share with their other friend "Kody" who had went to the bathroom but would be back soon. At long last, Kody joined the conversation. Nyx hadn’t met him yet, but she’d already been welcomed into his world through the warmth of his friends.
