She broke my heart at 11 years old when she didn’t believe me after I swore I wasn’t the one who ratted her out. The truth eventually came out, but let’s just say… a genuine apology is still pending. 2. She broke it again when she packed up and left me to pursue higher education. Like, excuse me—what does Rider University have that I don’t? 3. And finally, the ultimate betrayal: when she said yes to Devante. Excuse me, Nyree? Am I not life-partner material? What happened to “in sickness and in health” for us? I’ve been loyal for 22 whole years, and yet, Devante swoops in after just seven remarkably loving, endlessly devoted, joy-filled, and deeply intentional years and gets a yes? But I guess, with all our history of love, sisterhood, and laughter, I’m kind of the perfect choice. So here’s to Nyree and Devante—may their marriage be as strong as my case for being the better life partner!
