WE'RE GETTING MARRIED

HOW DID WE MEET? We met with friends to go shopping in Fordham. I (Nyoka) knew Stephon's twin sister Diane. Diane and I both worked at Playland during the summer. He was never supposed to come shopping with us but he was bored that day. Little did he know he was going to meet the love of his life. Diane approached me as I stood waiting at the train station. She said he was her twin brother. When we got on the metro north, I didn't have a ticket and he offered to give me his ticket. We didn't talk much until we all started shopping. It was about 6 of us out shopping that day with our Playland checks lol. He asked me for my phone to look something up, which now seems odd cause he had his own phone. Anyways he added himself on Facebook and messaged himself. We all hang out that day. He gave me the impression as if I've known him before. Conversations were easy going and it felt as if we known each other for years. There was a lot of laughter and I felt comfortable having him around me. He offered to walk me home and he didn't ask for my number or anything. He messaged me as soon as I entered my house. That is how we met!

On Aug 27,2023 something magical happened but before I can tell that part of it, I have to start from the beginning. About 2 years prior, I was already thinking about the best way to propose and I wanted to be prepared. I knew I wanted to use music as an entrance to start it off but I didn’t know how. A good friend of mines name Juan hit me up one day asking if I could hop on a song he wanted to record later that day, I said of course come over to my crib and we’ll record a draft before we go to the studio. Before he came I wasn’t thinking too much about it because during that time I was freestyling most of my songs so I was just waiting until he came over. Once I heard how he started the song off, I knew how I wanted my verse to go, all about Nyoka. After making the song I knew this was what I wanted to propose too but I didn’t know where I wanted to propose. We found out we were having a baby and with a baby comes a baby shower. Now on the day of the baby shower and when all of our family and peers were mingling to our soon to come baby boy , I was preparing for a big announcement. I already orchestrated for me and my boy Juan to perform the song towards the end of the celebration and that's just what we did. After Juan’s part was over and it was my time to rap, butterflies came in heavy my nerves were shaking. Line after line getting the crowd engaged until the last bar… “I just want to know baby, One thing”, I proceeded to get on one knee “Soon I’ll propose will a yes be for me.” Then I proceeded to take out the ring. “I dream of us kissing right on the sea and I stare in your eyes then I get a one knee” Lastly I look her in the eyes, open the case, history made, magical beginnings.
