Welcome to Clearwater Beach- home of soft white sand, calm waves and clear water. There is a marine aquarium located just before the beach where you'll find Winter the dolphin from that one dolphin movie that every kid seems to like. There are cabana's to rent and layout on if you don't want to waste your hotel towels and sheets. Along the beach, there are several shops to grab souvenirs, shirts and all things in between. At sunset located on the pier, vendors will be available to shop from! There are several restaurants available too. Don't be alarmed if you see a pirate ship coasting around, I promise it isn't Jack Sparrow. Parking tends to be a bit difficult so to make things easier, follow traffic down the main road leading to the beach. You'll see a massive pink hotel (this will be located under the accommodations tab) where a parking garage is located. If you know how to read then follow the signs leading to the parking garage. Parking here will make your life much easier.
Although you may want to just sunbathe at Clearwater beach, there's much more to do there! To the right of Pier 60, a red shack with a waving flag will be planted in the middle of the sand. There you will find rentals for jet skis, kayaks, parasailing, paddle boarding and Nyk's personal favorite- banana boating. Word of advice, make sure you don't place any tanning oil or sunscreen on before you choose to do this activity and make sure you hold on tight. You're in for a splashing time! Prices are relatively affordable and group rates are available! Any additional information will be on their website provided below.
If you weren't ever brave enough to travel and experience a real African safari, don't worry- Tampa has you covered. This African safari theme park provides anything and everything between umteen roller coasters and an abundance of animals like giraffes, cheetahs, elephants and more. There's even a safari ride that takes you into the animals habitat. There is a Florida resident discount offered so if you're not from here, don't be afraid to use someone's name to help you save a few bucks.
Weeki Wachee Springs is THE place to be. The springs offer 72 degrees crystal clear water that is perfect for paddle boarding or kayaking. The trail is 6 miles from Weeki Wachee to Rogers Park, where you will be shuttled back to your loading dock at Weeki Wachee. Along the river trail, there are many places to stop for a swim and even jump out of some trees. Don't be alarmed if you see a manatee swimming along your kayak!
As mentioned previously, Ybor City provides a family fun arcade on 8th Avenue. Too bad you left your kids at home because this is a 21+ wedding you're attending. What a shame. Typically this arcade is open until 11pm on weeknights and 2am on the weekends. This would be a great opportunity to hit the bars then test your skills on the air hockey table!
NY NY is a staple in Ybor City and a MUST after hitting the strip all night. The pizza slices are bigger than the plates and after several drinks, a pizza slice from here will be the next closest thing to Heaven. Also their ranch is *chefs kiss* thiccc. When eating this after midnight, you're offered free entertainment of Ybor's finest in the streets. The people watching really compliments the pizza flavoring which gives the ultimate cheesy experience.
