We met over our shared love of cover letters and mock interviews...who knew the sparks would fly at the UW Career Center? Paired up at our peer advisor training before the start of the school year, Sam thought our mock exercises were as silly as I did; I knew immediately this was a guy I'd get along well with. Legend has it, Sam came back that afternoon to his fraternity pool party, crushed a Coors Light, and uttered "...I think I've just met my wife."
After splitting pizza together at various Career Center events, Mel invited me over to watch the Seahawks game with her roommates (don't worry, they won). We've been rooting on the Seahawks together ever since!
We went to art museums, explored parks, and ate some of the most incredible food we've ever had. Once the current climate permits, we'll be planning a trip back asap.
We spent nearly 10 days road-tripping through California, Nevada, and Arizona, knocking national parks off our list. Of course, we had a blast hiking and soaking in the beauty of our surroundings, but some of our favorite memories from this trip comprised of simply spending time laughing or rocking out in the car together.
We had planned a trip down the central coast to Cambria, and this was one of the only 2020 plans we made that actually came to fruition. After the best day of wine-tasting (and how could I forget golfing in the morning for Sam), we took a walk along Moonstone Beach, where Sam got down on one knee. The sneaky guy had a surprise photographer waiting amongst the rocks, who captured the most memorable moment of our lives beautifully. We went back to one of the wineries, Moonstone Cellars, the following day to celebrate, and we've been wine club members ever since so that we can always be reminded of and cherish that special 7/11. Celebrating with free slurpees every year ain't so bad either.
