Always & Forever: Vincent & Nina

Some love stories begin with perfect timing. Theirs began with almost none, and that made all the difference. It was the spring of 2021 when Vincent and Nina found each other, right in the middle of life pulling them in two completely different directions. Vincent was weeks away from finishing his master's degree. Nina had her heart set on Chicago, ready to start fresh alongside her sister Selena. Two people, two paths, pointed somewhere else entirely. And yet, they chose each other anyway. They spent that summer completely present with one another. No pressure, no promises, just the quiet decision to show up honestly and see where it led. By the time the season ended, it was clear neither of them was ready to let go. So they didn't. Vincent headed to Detroit for a new job and Nina made her way to Chicago. Six hours apart, but every two weeks without fail, one of them was boarding an Amtrak train to close the distance. Union Station in downtown Chicago became their favorite meeting point, a place that still holds a piece of their story to this day. Eventually, Vincent made the easiest decision to move to Chicago. Together they built a life there, spending their evenings walking the city, wandering down to the Adler Planetarium along the lakefront, talking for hours, admiring the twinkling lights, and finding in each other the kind of peace that feels like home. It was on one of those familiar paths, at that very spot, that Vincent got down on one knee. And Nina said yes. After the engagement, they found their way back to Columbus, bought a house, put down roots, and began building something truly their own. Life has not always been easy since. Nina faced major hip surgery, relearning how to walk step by step, with Vincent steadfast beside her every single day. Vincent has faced his own health battles, with Nina right there in return. What they have been through together has taught them something they now know with certainty. With God and each other, there is nothing they cannot overcome. They are not getting married because life has been easy. They are getting married because they have already walked through hard parts, and every single time, they chose each other. And they always will.
