This ceremony is usually held a few days before the wedding day and is a ritualistic way to prepare the bride and groom for their upcoming marriage. During the Maiyan ceremony, a paste made from turmeric, gram flour, mustard oil, and water is applied to the bride and groom's skin. This paste is believed to cleanse and purify the skin, giving it a radiant glow. Family members and friends take turns applying the paste on the couple's face, arms, and legs. The Maiyan symbolizes the blessings and well-wishes of the family for the couple's upcoming marriage. Light bites and refreshments to be served.
