Maiyan is a traditional pre-wedding ceremony in Punjabi culture and is a ritualistic way to prepare the bride and groom for their upcoming marriage. During the Maiyan ceremony, a turmeric paste is applied to the bride and groom's skin. This paste is believed to cleanse and purify the skin. Family members and friends take turns applying the paste on the couple's face, arms, and legs. The Maiyan symbolizes the blessings and well-wishes of the family for the couple's upcoming marriage. Light bites and refreshments to be served.

Anand Karaj (Sikh Wedding Ceremony)

A Sikh Anand Karaj wedding is a sacred and joyous union ceremony that holds deep spiritual significance in Sikhism. The ceremony signifies the union of two souls in the presence of the Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh holy scripture. Timeline THE BARAAT Baraat marks the arrival of the groom at the wedding venue. Family and friends will accompany the groom to the ceremony area MILNI CEREMONY Milni means coming together, symbolizing the formal introduction of two families. ANAND KARAJ The term "Anand Karaj" translates to a blissful or happy union. This Sikh marriage ceremony emphasizes love, equality, commitment, and the spiritual aspect of the union LUNCH Following the Anand Karaj, lunch will be served.
