In March of 2016 Lanie decided to make a trip to Greenville, NC to interview to become an employee for East Carolina University. Little did she know at the time she would be meeting the man of her dreams Brian. Lanie interviewed very well and Brian gave her a perfect score and was hoping the small town girl of Maxwell would leave Iowa for the South. Lanie accepted the job and started to plan for the future. Knowing Lanie accepted the job Brian Facebook creeped her and added her in June. Lanie and Brian talked every day on messenger and over text for about two weeks. Brian finally had the courage to facetime her and they facetimed and talked every single day from June 15th- until her arrival in Greenville. The rest is history.
