Michael and Mary-Kate’s story began when they met on Hinge during the pandemic. After weeks of getting to know each other, they had their first date at the Tavern on the Tracks on July 2, 2020. After a 7 hour date, they met up again the next night where they listened to music by the fire. They quickly realized that this was more than just meeting someone online. They spent the 4th of July at Mary-Kate’s neighborhood party and have been inseparable ever since. Over the past 4 years, Michael and Mary-Kate have moved in together, spent time with their families & friends, have shared their love of golf & animals and have become each other’s best friend and partner in life. They cannot wait to share their life with their families and friends.

On their 3rd year anniversary and their 3rd trip to Wells Beach, Maine, Michael suggested that morning on July 22, 2023 that they go to one of their favorite breweries, Maine Beer Company and have lunch in Freeport Maine. After returning to the hotel to get ready for dinner, Michael suggested having a cocktail on the beach before leaving which was a normal happy hour routine they continued that his grandparents had started years back on their family vacations to Wells Beach. While they were standing on the beach, Michael said he was going to get Mary-Kate’s purse from the room and he would be back down. After returning from the room, Mary-Kate turned to start walking towards the hotel to leave for dinner and Michael stopped her and got down on one knee. He asked if she would marry him while presenting his grandmother’s engagement ring. Mary-Kate turned away in shock thinking he was joking again as he pretended the night before. She then quickly realized that it really was happening when she turned back around and he was still on one knee. She immediately said “yes” followed by “are you sure?”.
