Aaarrrggghhh! We're both East Carolina Pirates! Jonathan and I were both a part of the ECU Honors College, and we lived on the same floor of Garrett Hall freshman through sophomore year. I thought Jonathan was a cutie the first time I saw him walk into our English class together...but was quickly turned off when he got kicked out of class on the first day! Thankfully, it was a misunderstanding and mild overreaction from the professor. We met again second semester in Chemistry, where I struggled and Jonathan excelled (as usual). I didn't know him that well but I needed some help to pass this class, so I latched on! Long story short, I eked out a C+ and ended up with a handsome new friend. He moved in with our mutual friend Patrick sophomore year, and we became closer and closer as our friend groups merged together. One week before Valentine's Day, Jonathan asked me to be his girlfriend, and he's been buying two Valentine's presents ever since!

My 25th birthday was an unforgettable one! It was a busy day for me - lots of projects going on at work, the usual Monday morning meetings taking up half the day, and then a party for all of the other September Babies at work. By the time I got home, I was done talking, eating, and otherwise functioning as an adult. Jonathan asked what I wanted to do for dinner, and I just decided we'd order La Rancherita for dinner (our favorite!). We ate dinner, watched Naruto, and I got ready for bed early because I was exhausted! After putting on pajamas, I went to the bathroom to wash my face. I asked Jonathan a question, and he didn't respond. I asked again and he still didn't respond. I dried my face and turned out the light, going to figure out what could possibly be more important than my question. I walked out into the dark hallway and saw a shadowy figure on the ground in front of me, and I jumped back and screamed! Jonathan started laughing and I saw that he was on one knee with a black box in his hand. I screamed again and said "What are you doing?!" I'm sure y'all know the rest... and of course I said yes!
